A friend who lives in Izu sent me this photo.  It is said that such a tree house is often seen in the villa area of ​​Izu.  The Korowai race still live in their original treehouses in the Papua New Guinea rainforest.  The reason they built tree houses and lived in trees was to protect themselves from other races that were hostile to them.  Today, tree house construction is popular in New Zealand, Canada, the United States, and European countries, and there are companies that specialize in tree house planning, construction, and consulting.  It may be built by an individual as a villa or studio, for recreation or sightseeing purposes, or as a playground for children.  I think the appeal of tree houses is that everyone from adults to children can enjoy them as if they were in a hideout.  It reminds me of The Adventures of Tom Sawyer.
