Fireworks are one of Japan’s summer traditions, but fireworks are held all over the country in winter too. It is said that the fireworks that blow up in the cold, clearing atmosphere look more beautiful than in summer. That is, Warm air in summer is prone to refraction of light, making distant scenes difficult to see or distort, whereas cold air in winter is less prone to refraction.
