I heard the warbler singing from over there of the open-air bath surrounded by bamboo bushes.  It is a singing that I hear every year. It’s not good at singing.  Whether it’s the same warbler as last year or a bad-blooded warbler, it sounds the same every year.  It came early this year, probably because of the warm winter.  I will say “you’re not good at singing, study harder”.  Then it sings “hohoke” and is gone out somewhere.  I hear that all the warblers who start singing are like that, so it may not be unreasonable, but I always feel irritated.  I’d like it to come and sing when it get better, but I haven’t heard that good singing yet.  I left the hot water, expecting to hear the singing that it has got better this year.

竹藪に囲まれた露天風呂の出で湯の先からウグイスの鳴き声が聞こえてきました。毎年聞く鳴き声です。下手くそです。去年と同じウグイスなのか、下手くそな血筋のウグイスなのか、毎年同じ鳴き方です。今年は暖冬のせいか早めにやって来ました。「下手くそ、もっとしっかり勉強せい」と大声で言ってやります。すると「ホーホケ」と言ってどこかに行ってしまいます。泣き始めのウグイスはみんなそうだと聞きますから、無理もないのかも知れませんが、いつも歯痒い思いがします。上手くなったら来て鳴いて欲しいのですが、いまだにその上手な鳴き声を聞いたことがありません。今年こそ上手になった鳴き声を聞きたいものだと湯をあとにしました。
