As I walk along the road, I found an old house with a vase with autumn flowers in front of the gate.  I can image what a nice person living in this house he is. The sunshine of summer remains strong, but when looking at these flowers, autumn is definitely approaching.

今日もあるお家を訪ねました。門前にはいつも季節季節の生け花が飾ってあるお家です。

案の定、ススキに咲きかけの萩の花、夏の名残をとどめるホウズキ、黄色い野菊、完璧です。大きめの花瓶か土瓶か、土瓶のほうがよろしい。横に鋳鉄でこしらえた鯉が泳いでいて、土台は大きな木の輪切りです。家の主の風流が偲ばれます。

外の日差しはまだまだ強く、空気が澄んでいるだけに、なおきつい。秋の風情と夏の名残を感じながら、さらに涼を求めて林に歩を進めました。
